Our client is the world’s leading construction company providing services for witnessing and certifying all scheduled, random, or Construction Manager-instructed inspections in accordance with technical documents and within the relevant discipline. They coordinate and conduct all site inspections with subcontractor and client quality control personnel. This includes qualifying welders through the Welder Performance Test, controlling welders’ performance, and witnessing and accepting all welding inspections as per contract requirements. Additionally, they supervise construction activities, ensuring compliance with schedules, specifications, and safety protocols while coordinating subcontractors and contractors.
Position: Mechanical Inspector
Salary: 60,000 – 70,000 THB / month (including OT)
Location: Map Ta Phut, Rayong
Working Day: Monday to Saturday
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all submitted inspection reports are accurate and duly completed by the Subcontractor, that the attached technical documents are status, and that the actual inspection is correctly prepared, prior to commencement of any client inspection.
- Prepare inspection reports and records, as required.
- Prepare welding inspection reports and records.
- Maintain record of all events of welding for all welding joints, those are material identification check, confirmation of WPS to be used, fit up inspection date and result, welding date, welder name, visual inspection date and result, NDT date and result and post weld treatment date and result.
- Assist the Subcontractor in the preparation of inspection reports and records, where necessary.
- Assist the Construction Manager in the organization, maintaining and controlling the quality control systems.
- Prepare and submit Nonconformance Reports to the Construction Manager, and assist in developing and implementing corrective measures, and ensure the Subcontractor complies.
- Assist the Construction Manager, in resolving any technical documents discrepancies, ambiguities, confusion or queries, expressed by the Home Office, Subcontractor or Client.
- Attend meetings, as per instructions by the Construction Manager.
- Supervise any installation, welding and painting works for field assembled tanks including the platform and ladders and all the associated works, automated warehouse, flow rack, laboratory equipment etc.
- Interpret Subcontractor for the technical document together with discipline engineer at Home Office.
- Coordinate with other Contractors to avoid delay of the construction schedule and/or conflict.
- Prepare the handover documents to the preceding and following Contractors for relevant works, to avoid any troubles.
- Assist and conduct Subcontractors for the arrangement of equipment, materials at lay-down area, to meet the requirement of installation sequences and coordinate with other Contractors for field assembling area, crane allocations and equipment transportation route, etc., to avoid obstruction to other Contractors works.
- Assist and coordinate vendor specialists for the works.
- Check and monitor the equipment and material arrival status to meet the requirements of installation sequence and construction schedule, and report punctually to the Construction Manager in order to expediently resolve the problem and resume construction works.
- Develop the work method statements for the construction activities, including the safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
- Arrange tool box meeting with Subcontractors every morning to confirm work activities and those safety measures.
- Issue reports by daily, weekly and monthly including topics, man-power, work done volume, problems and its countermeasure, etc.
- Issue and analyze schedule for two week look ahead, monthly and three month to assist the Construction Manager.
- Ensure all Subcontractors on site adhere to the master construction schedule.
- Ensure all Subcontractors on site adhere to the site procedures and specifications.
- Survey and measure the work done progress for weekly and monthly reporting, in accordance with the procedures established by the Construction Manager.
- Ensure the efficient and expedient execution of all construction works to keep the master construction schedule.
- Confirm the punch clearing at the final stage and inform punctually it to the Construction Manager.
- Carry out receiving, unpacking, inspection and preservation of materials or equipment.
- Prepare excess, damage and shortage reports for materials or equipment.
- Do whatsoever just and appropriate other tasks required for attaining the objectives contemplated herein.
Qualifications:
- Welcome Diploma degree or Bachelor degree of Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience 10+ years of mechanical and welding inspector and supervisor.
- Membership/Certification of CAWI or higher
- Experience for both mechanical and welding required.
- Good command in English (spoken and written).
