Key Responsibilities

- Provide proactive legal advice and guidance to senior management on a variety of legal issues including corporate governance, contracts, employment law, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance.
- Identify and assess legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations and ensure the company's compliance.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts including but not limited to commercial agreements, service agreements, and partnership agreements.
- Ensure all contracts are legally sound and safeguard the company's interests.
- Manage and oversee the company’s litigation and dispute resolution processes.
- Work with external legal counsel on litigation matters and coordinate internal resources as needed.
- Develop and implement strategies for the protection and management of the company's intellectual property portfolio.
- Conduct IP audits to identify valuable intellectual property and ensure adequate protection.
- Provide legal advice on IP matters including patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and licensing agreements.
- Advise on the registration, maintenance, and enforcement of intellectual property rights.
- Draft, review, and negotiate IP-related agreements including licensing agreements, confidentiality agreements, and collaboration agreements.
- Ensure contracts involving IP are aligned with the company’s strategic goals and legal requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date legal records and documentation.
- Ensure proper filing and management of legal documents.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited law school.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a corporate legal department or law firm, mostly preferred candidates who has experience with retails industry.
- Proven experience in managing legal issues related to corporate law, contracts, compliance, and litigation.
- Previous management or leadership experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge in IP matters including patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and licensing agreements.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong ethical standards and professional integrity.
