POSITION:          FOOD SCIENTIST (R&D) 

BUSINESS:          Food Applications

SALARY:              60,000 THB / month

LOCATION:         Bangkok

Job Summary:
The Food Scientist (R&D) will play a key role in developing innovative food products, improving existing formulations, and ensuring products meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards. This role will involve conducting research, experimenting with ingredients, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring new ideas from concept to market.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the formulation and development of new food products from concept to commercialization.
  • Experiment with ingredients, flavors, textures, and processing techniques to meet product specifications and consumer demands.
  • Continuously improve existing product formulations for better taste, quality, cost-efficiency, and shelf-life.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and consumer preferences to drive innovation.
  • Conduct scientific research on food ingredients, nutrition, and processing methods to enhance product offerings.
  • Develop and test prototypes and product samples in a laboratory or pilot plant setting.
  • Ensure that all products comply with food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, USDA, etc.) and internal quality standards.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to monitor product performance and troubleshoot any issues related to formulation or processing.
  • Prepare product documentation, including ingredient lists, nutritional information, and labels, according to regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing teams during product scale-up and commercialization processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in food product development, research, or formulation, preferably within the food and beverage industry.
  • Knowledge of food chemistry, microbiology, and sensory evaluation techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and innovatively.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in lab equipment and food processing technology.
  • Experience with plant-based or alternative protein products is preferred.
