Responsibilities:
- Creates highly accurate erection drawings to provide a visual depiction of company’s products to be used in sales, manufacturing, and erection of company steel forms.
- Exhibits mastery of various equipment, engineering practices, mathematics, and other means to complete drawings to meet district and corporate objectives.
- Working efficiently under limited supervision, carries out design/drafting assignments of routine to more complex nature, with latitude in the use of judgment to make decisions.
- Investigates and procures all data required to develop a design.
- Recommends updates to drafting and engineering standards to help develop training as well as testing to be used for recruitment of new drafters. Actively providing ideas to provide LIPCC.
- Solves practical problems and deals with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Takes initiative to work with Checker or Engineer to develop e-drawing budget, manage project drawings, address manufacturing, distribution, and field service issues as needed.
- Reviews & compares the budgeted versus actual drafting hours and provides feedback.
- Creates erection drawings to be used in both custom and standard projects as assigned by direct reports.
- Works closely with all key personnel to ensure that drawings convey the correct information and are error free.
- Generates detailed mechanical drawings for manufacturing and warehouse applications.
- Enters equipment lists as needed for projects. Reviews entered e-list. Makes adjustments appropriately.
- Acts in a liaison capacity with warehouse to troubleshoot assembly problems.
- Acts as and reviews with Checker, District Engineer, Corporate Production Engineer, or other management personnel as needed.
- Provides training to drafters. Serves as a mentor.
- Develops and coordinates guidelines used in training for company’s policies, procedures and forming systems.
- Recommends changes and works with appropriate management personnel. Identify and promote best practices.
- Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Engineering or another related field.
- At least 6 years’ experience in drafting or other engineering related position.
- General construction knowledge along with ability to read and interpret blueprints required.
